Shop at Petticoat Lane Market
A plan by: eitoile
People have been thronging to this buzzy East End Market since 1750 when it was famed for the lacy petticoats sold there by the French Huguenots. It's grown far beyond its underwear roots and is the perfect place to go for …. well pretty much anything you can think of?pots, pans, jackets, DVDs, electronic goods, shoes etc etc. Women are especially well catered for here, as market traders sell a huge range of fashion items from high street type clothing to jewellery. Even if you're not looking for anything specific, the bargain basement prices, lively atmosphere and range of cheap and delicious food stalls make this a great place to while away a Sunday morning. Make sure you get there early though, the best bargains are always gone by midday and by 2pm the place starts winding down. The market is open during the week (not Saturdays) but Sunday is really the time to go as over 1000 stallholders sell their wares there between 9am and 2pm.
