“Beer Heaven in Hackney” says the Good Beer Guide of the Pembury Tavern, a pub with a long tradition dating back to 1886 and re-opened in 2006. It looks quite impressive from the outside but the décor inside is  plain and an assortment of wooden furniture gives it more of a community hangout charm. This is what makes the Tavern a great place, its community spirit with many neighbourhood associations and meetups taking place in the pub kindly hosted by the tech-savy landlord (the cash register software was written by himself and has a twitter feed build in). Above all this is a great pub with an excellent choice of up to 16 beers with the  Milton brewery  predominating and guests from other micro-breweries.

The pub is one of five owned by the Individual Pubs chain.
