Spectacular view of St Pauls Cathedral (ten miles away!) from King Henry's Mound in Richmond Park.
Henry VIII liked to watch deer hunting from this small hillock in beautiful Richmond Park, and in 1710 the view to St Pauls Cathedral was protected, so that since then no-one can grow trees or construct buildings so that they obscure the view.
Great for cycling, walking and mingling with the 650 deer that live here. Park is closed to traffic at sunset, but pedestrian gates are still open. During the day there are cafes and bike-hire and other outdoor pursuits.
