Even though the Elfin Oak has been around for over 900 years, not many Londoners know about this old tree stump in Kensington Gardens. It is carved and painted to look as though elves, gnomes and small animals are living in its bark. It was originally at Richmond Park but was moved to its current site in 1928. It now lives happily next to the Diana Memorial Playground.
