For those of you who are not already friends of finer Japanese cuisine, okonomiyaki (loosely translated as grilled what you like) is a savoury pancake popular in the Hiroshima or Kansai region of Japan. The pancakes are typically prepared in front of your eyes on a hot plate in  your table and the people of Abeno do it very well. Set in surprisingly pretty Museum Street just off the British Musuem Abeno represents an affordable and exciting alternative for a dinner venue with friends, family or potential dates.
