From Brief Encounter to Slumdog Millionaire, train stations have been used by Hollywood to set the scene for some of the great classic romances. Now St Pancras International, London's recently spectacularly renovated red bricked gothic icon, can join the canon with its very own set of lovers locked in embrace on the new Eurostar platform.
Meeting Place is a bronze, nine metre tall statue created by the sculptor Paul Day. This immense structure manages to capture the intimacy and spontaneity of the moment, despite being made out of several tonnes of cold, solid metal.
The statue offers the perfect opportunity for a photo-call and the perfect excuse to snog a companion, mimicking the pose of the entwined bronze lovers. You can cool off from your photogenic moment of passion with a glass of wine at the nearby champagne bar, and if the mood takes you, you might even end up jumping on the next train to Paris!
